INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT: Sentinel retail signage from Signwaves

Signwaves have been designing and manufacturing double-sided free-standing forecourt signs for over 30 years and set the industry benchmark for design, safety and performance. No Signwaves product comes to market without rigorous testing.

In poster display format, the Sentinel® is available in four stock sizes, A1, 30” x 40”, A0 and 40” x 60”. The largest in the range, for 40” x 60” posters, stands nearly 2m tall and makes for an imposing presence in front of a store. Magnetic edged polycarbonate poster cover sheets are permanently fixed on the top edge with tamper-proof fixings, ensuring poster loss due to bad weather or vandalism is virtually eliminated. Stylish silver borders on the poster cover sheets come as standard but for a more branded forecourt sign, choose a printed poster cover sheet, custom coloured frame or printed back panel for permanent messaging when posters are not in use. You will see Signwaves Sentinel ® forecourt signs working hard for retailers such as large supermarkets, petrol station forecourts and outside car dealerships.

The Sentinel ® Banner option in two standard sizes, 30” x 40” and 40” x 60”, is worth considering if more permanent messaging is required whilst still retaining the ability to update easily. Lower cost than Sentinel Poster it displays a bungee tensioned double-sided flexible PVC printed banner instead of shorter life paper posters. Spare banners with different seasonal messages can be rolled up and stored when not in use. Museums, public buildings and tourist attractions in particular find Sentinel Banner ideally suits their needs when a pavement sign just isn’t big enough.

With recyclability of products at the forefront of our minds, the Sentinel offers a recyclable steel frame, poster cover sheets and black water fillable base.

Both the Sentinel ® and Sentinel ® Banner boast a black water fillable polyethylene base made from recycled materials. With a full base, the 40” x 60” sign weighs a humongous 150kg, offering you peace of mind that your sign will stay standing upright once out in the field!

INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT: Sign making from Signwaves

With over 30 years’ experience in sign making, Signwaves are proud to manufacture and print thoroughly researched, designed and tested sign and display products for blue-chip brands and retailers, agencies and trade resellers.

We operate from a three acre factory, office and warehouse site in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, supported by a joint venture manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China and are proud to supply customers both in the UK and internationally.

With the environment and recyclability a hot topic and on everyone’s minds, Signwaves are committed to protecting our environment and offering customers sustainable, eco-friendly signage. By 31st March 2020, Signwaves are devoted to achieving ISO14001 accreditation, focusing on implementing environmental systems within the business to achieve this.

Signwaves Ecoflex sign is the UK’s current biggest selling pavement sign and is completely recyclable at end of life.  It comprises an aluminium display panel and a recycled plastic base, a patented fastener anchors the components together for the working life of the sign. At the end of life, the display panel can be separated from the base in a matter of seconds allowing the aluminium to be reclaimed. The plastic base material is also 100% reusable towards future mouldings.

Some 4,200 tonnes of recycled PVC have since been used across our products – that’s the weight equivalent of 550 African elephants! So a significant amount of material is being diverted away from a land-fill destination by Signwaves clever, eco-based design.

Alongside committing to reducing electricity consumption at Signwaves, Solar panels have recently been installed on the factory and office building as well as the warehouse building, ensuring energy is obtained from renewable sources where possible.

Paper consumption is also being reduced through staff awareness and the introduction of paperless operations where suitable as Signwaves aim to increase the volume of waste we recycle and reduce the volume of our waste going to landfill.

INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT: Directed work for the seamless retail experience

Your storefront is facing strong competition from online retailers who can get their products into the hands of your customer faster than ever before.

You need to deliver a five-star customer experience and seamless, error-free omnichannel services with fewer store associates and more and more products to stock on the shelves. And you need to find an edge over online competitors.

We believe brick and mortar retailers can beat the competition using their biggest advantage: the local storefront. There’s still no online substitute for actually seeing, inspecting and buying a product in person: no waiting, or questions about quality, or fit.

Today’s successful retailers have adapted to offer the best of both worlds: online ordering capabilities with delivery via a distributed network, where and when the consumer wants. This could be ship-to-store / click-and-collect, or home delivery via a local storefront, or simply checking stock and pricing before making a purchase in store.

In this omnichannel storefront, order fulfilment processes are increasingly complex as retailers take on their new role of an e-commerce fulfilment centre.

Retail associates can deliver a five-star customer experience online and in store without standing behind a screen or terminal – they are in the aisles and face-to-face with the customer with real-time order information, stock availability, ship-to-store order information and more.

To find out how, visit Honeywell Connected Retail.
